Emily Strange releases first ever CD sampler -
Emily the Strange, clothing and lifestyle brand for fashion malcontents has teamed up with BIGMOUTH marketing and Dark Horse Comics to release its first music compilation, 'Strange Music for Strange People, Volume 1.' Featuring tracks from bands such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Subways, The Damned, Dresden Dolls and Black Heart Procession, the disc mirrors the eclectic tastes and styles of Emily's fans. |
The 17-song disc was unveiled at the international Comic-Con 2006 in San Diego, CA July 26. It is rumored that one or more bands from the compilation may be making an appearance in the upcoming Rock issue of the quarterly Emily Strange comic book with Dark Horse Comics. The CD is currently available free with all orders on the official Emily the Strange website, EmilyStrange.com, and will soon be made available for a nominal shipping fee on eBay. |

EmilyStrange.com has long been more than just a retail website. Webmaster and Emily illustrator Buzz Parker works with bands and record labels on promotions and to stream songs on Emly’s own Noise Noise Noise MP3 player. All songs from Strange Music For Strange People Vol.1 are now in rotation, with three songs featured each week.

Merging fashion, art and music are central themes to the art house Cosmic Debris, home and headquarters to Emily The Strange. Owner and creator Rob Reger uses old school punk and new wave music as a source of inspiration for many designs each season, so the release of this first in a series of Emily the Strange music samplers is a natural progression for the company. |
