EMILY THE STRANGE: DEATH BECOMES HER
Emily the Strange Comic #1 Available Now

Printable version of this press release

Dark Horse Comics has released the latest issue of the Emily the Strange comic book, marking the debut of a new format for the series. Emily the Strange #1: The Death Issue departs from the previous ETS series of full color, glossy covered, bells and whistles comics and gets back to Emily's roots: graphic and punk rock in classic black and white.

The adventures of a thirteen-year-old girl and her cats center around the theme of death - one thing we all have in common (or will in the end). The Death Issue is punctuated with Emily's trademark sly humor, curiosity and fearlessness, with illustrations to match. Die-hard comic book aficionados will appreciate the classic comic style art, while Emily fans of all kinds can revel in her intrepid attitude facing death itself.

This issue's featured Trip Out Artist is Tim Biskup! His 2 page interpretation of Emily's thoughts on death is a true highlight of the issue. Tim Biskup is a Southern California fine artist whose work has been shown worldwide, including galleries and museums in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Kyoto, Barcelona, Berlin and Melbourne. He's collaborated with artists and designers around the globe and organized art auctions and exhibitions.

Emily the Strange has become renown throughout the world as an individualistic, clever and unique brand of clothing and accessories. Beyond fashion, the character is the subject of a quarterly comic book from Dark Horse Comics, 4 hardbound Graphic Novels by Chronicle Books, and a feature film with 20th Century Fox in the works.

Emily the Strange #1: The Death Issue is available on the brand's official website - www.emilystrange.com - as well as fine comic book purveyors nationwide.
