BERKELEY, CA -- January 27, 2009: Jump a ride on the Strange express with everyone’s favorite girl-power icon, Emily the Strange, at her New York Comic-Con ’09 panel presentation! Original artwork and comic book collectors definitely won’t want to miss the Emily panel this year, as they could win something very exciting! Highlighting the event is an exceptional Emily drawing: First place winner takes home an original, exclusive New York Comic-Con ’09 Emily drawing by creator Rob Reger. Second place drawing winner receives the entire Emily Dark Horse Comic Book Catalog, autographed by Reger. And of course, the panel will feature many wild, weird and wonderful things new in Emily’s world. Join Reger, Dark Horse Comics Editor Shawna Gore, and Anne Hoppe, Executive Editor of HarperCollins Children’s Books, at this not-to-be-missed Emily affair! The panel will take place on Sunday, February 8 from 4 to 5 pm, Panel Room 2 (1A07) at the Jacob Javits Center.

In addition to the spectacular prize drawings, this special event will feature a peek at the upcoming Art of Emily book -- a showcase of hundreds of the best Emily paintings, graphic designs, and pop culture tributes ever made. Also, you can see the first online Emily comic on MySpace.com! HarperCollins Children’s Books Executive Editor Anne Hoppe will give you the scoop on the brand new Emily young adults’ novel series…you’ll get to see a glimpse of the cool new art for the first novel, and learn news on the second book in the series, when Emily’s diary continues. Hear more about Emily’s new NetToons program, which enables you to create your own animated Emily music videos. You’ll also get the update on the upcoming Emily movie, exclusive news about the new Dark Horse comic series that starts in July, and enjoy a look at all sorts of other exciting Emily stuff!
